I did the same with paper cranes. So cool with different paper and you could never find one just like it. You can also make it pretty complex. I plan to add more soon

Like Amber I also made my mobile with paper cranes. I found the process to be really fun and rewarding. Knowing that it was a one of a kind was definitely the icing on the cake.

love it! i actually posted about this DIY kind of mobile a few weeks ago but it was all origami, i really like your idea of cutting paper for a bit more interest (http://finelittlehome.blogspot.com/2011/04/diy-day_27.html). i too thought about the cranes but then decided to take apart a baby board book with silly/crazy animal & baby faces on it, it was so easy and fun. all the best to you your baby and your new little family!
